why didn’t I think of this?!

Hey there,

You know when you hear about something so perfect, so delightfully odd, that you immediately think, “Why didn’t I think of this?”

Yeah, that’s precisely what happened when I heard about The Secret Society of Curious Minds, founded by my friend and Compass realtor Juliet Leydon. The moment I heard about it, I was ALL IN. Because, honestly, how could I not be? It’s basically a club for people who love doing weird, wonderful, random things.

I’d delight you with the details, but Juliet explains it best herself:

"Eric [Juliet's husband] is tired of me dragging him to weird shit. And anytime I regale someone with a story about one of my oddball outings, they always say, 'Let me know next time you do something like that. I’d love to go!' Next time is here."

So here’s how it works: Juliet will post a quirky event or offbeat outing she’s interested in. Maybe it’s checking out a local ghost tour, exploring an abandoned warehouse-turned-art installation, or going to a farm where you can… pet alpacas and sip artisanal kombucha. Whatever she’s into that day.

And you can join her. Or not! No hard feelings. You can even post your own strange ideas and see who’s brave enough to tag along.

What makes it a secret? Absolutely nothing! There’s no secret handshake or cryptic password. Juliet thought it sounded cooler than “Group of People Who Like Doing Weird Stuff.” (And let's be honest, it totally does.)

If you're itching to break away from the mundane and embrace your inner adventurer, this group is for you. The weirder, the better! Think hidden speakeasies, livestream opera in a movie theater —you get the idea. The stuff that makes for the best stories.

Come join us for all the oddball fun on Facebook: The Secret Society of Curious Minds. Let’s get curious and make some unforgettable memories.

See you out there (probably doing something bizarre),

Best,

P.S. Don’t forget—it’s not really a secret! Share with your friends because the more curious minds, the better.

Hello, Reader, my fellow word lover, We’ve all heard the saying, “If you’re the smartest person in the room, it’s time to find a different room.” If you know me, you’ve likely heard me say it more than once—it’s one of my mantras. When I start feeling too wise for my own good (or, as I like to joke, putting the “ass” in “wiseass”), I grab my metaphorical backpack and seek out new adventures. After all, who wants to be the smartest one when there’s so much more to learn? One of the smarter...

Hello Reader, Young Padawan, Thanks to the magic of scheduling emails, when you read this, I’ll be soaking up the sun on the sandy beaches of Aruba with a good book in hand! I mean, is there any better way to kick off National Reading Month? I’d love to hear what you’re diving into these days. Recently, I’ve enjoyed The Midnight Library, a tremendous feat of the imagination that depicts a breathtaking version of the afterlife. I’ve also enjoyed The Art Forger and The Lioness of Boston. The...

Hey there, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday, and in my world, that means it’s also a day to remember my late mother, who—without fail—dressed as the Cat in the Hat on Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Listen, we all have our hobbies. This was hers. And she wore that striped hat with gusto. Dr. Seuss gave us plenty of whimsical rhymes and wacky characters, but he also imparted lessons in empathy. "Horton Hears a Who" reminds us that a person’s a person, no matter how small. "The Sneetches" tells us that...
