Hi Reader,

Here we are — the end of January.

If 2025 was the Year of the Snake, I think I shed at least six layers: old habits, old goals, a business plan that didn’t make it past Groundhog Day.

Now that the dust (and scales) have settled, what’s left is something real. Something human.

I’ve spent the past year helping business owners rewrite copy that looked fine on the surface but didn’t feel like them. And if I’ve learned anything, it’s this: people don’t connect with polish. They connect with truth.

So in 2026, I’m doubling down on the human stuff. Real stories. Real voice. Real connection. The kind that makes your reader nod, laugh, or think, “Were they eavesdropping on my life?”

That’s what I’m exploring over on Substack — the behind-the-scenes look at how I write, rewrite, and sometimes completely blow things up in the name of clarity and connection. It’s where I experiment, rant, and talk about what’s really working (and what’s not) in writing that sells because it’s real.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, join me there:

👉 Write Like You Mean It

Here’s to ending January with the one thing we actually need to keep: our voice.

Best,

white paper beside white ceramic mug

Hi Reader, You don’t need a cabin in the woods to write consistently. You need rhythm. My own ritual is simple: Coffee. Always. A fifteen-minute brain dump—everything that doesn’t belong in the draft. Music that matches the mood of what I’m writing. One clean document named after the client, not the chaos. No incense. No “manifesting.” Simple repetition that tells my brain: we write now. That kind of repeatable system is what makes long-term agency partnerships work—and what keeps client...

black and white typewriter on green table

Hi Reader, Today’s hot writing take: Writer’s block isn’t real. It’s a costume fear wears when it wants to look artistic. Most of the time, you’re not “blocked.” You’re avoiding the first bad draft—the one that clears the path to something better. Here’s what works: Write something terrible on purpose. Ugly words are still words. Change your medium. Dictate, handwrite, type standing up. Lower the bar. Write a sentence, not a chapter. Move your body. Ideas sneak in when you’re not looking for...
