Revive that dusty manuscript—

Hi Reader,

I hope you borrowed my Halloween hack and bought candy you didn’t like—because who needs 73 mini Snickers haunting the house? Better to buy yourself some time instead.

Now here we are…on the cusp of turning the clocks back. You know what that means:

🍁 Deep Writing Season is about to begin here at Judi 411 Enterprises.

This is the stretch of the year I live for: slippers on, candle lit, dog snoring nearby, and that long-neglected manuscript pulled back into the light. Mine’s been on pause too—life has a way of doing that—but winter is the perfect time to come back to it.

If you’ve got pages collecting metaphorical (or actual) dust, this is your nudge to pick them up again. Re-read what you've written. Reconnect with the voice that first compelled you to put words on the page.

Winter invites focus. Stillness. A little bit of hibernation. Why not give your brain a project that feels like progress?

Whether your manuscript needs a few notes or a full-blown rewrite, this season can be your creative turning point. You don’t need to finish it—you can simply move it forward.

If you need help re-engaging with your work-in-progress, I’ve got a warm seat at the writing table with your name on it.

Let’s revive your book together.

Best,

P.S. The days may be getting shorter, but your manuscript’s shelf life isn’t. Let’s give it the winter it deserves.

Hi Reader, Big news: my latest story has been accepted into Animal Mayhem: When Wild Things Go Wilder, part of Gina Ramsey’s joyfully chaotic Burnt Gloveboxes anthology series. My contribution? Picture Comedy of Errors meets National Geographic—a spectacularly gross misunderstanding involving the animal kingdom, a well-intentioned but totally wrong assumption, and the kind of moment you can’t un-hear (or un-see). When I saw the call for submissions, I knew instantly: this piece had found its...
