Hi Reader, my fellow earthling,

Someone recently shared with me the seven magic words they use to start conversations about their work.

And it got me thinking: I’ve got a seven-word phrase too.

A verbal recipe. A little conversation starter.

One that works like a charm for anyone out there who refers people my way—whether for website copy, bios, newsletters, or other “what do I even say here” moments.

Here it is:

👉 “What are you saying on your website?”

Simple. Direct. Non-threatening.

It invites someone to pause and reflect.

Usually, the answers sound like:

• “Oh, don’t even look at it.”
  ​
• “It’s kind of outdated.”
  ​
• “Honestly, it doesn’t sound like me.”
  ​
• “I wrote it myself when I had no idea what I was doing.”
  ​
• “It’s fine...I guess?” (Spoiler alert: it’s not.)
  ​

That’s when you can step in and say:

“You need Judi. She’s the writer people call when they want their words to actually do the job—whether that’s converting clicks into clients or telling your story in a way that finally feels like you.”
